Cheaper express/overnight shipping options

How are you guys shipping your parcels (USPS, UPS, FEDEX, etc) to get more affordable express/overnight shipping rates? 

I've seen people offering $25 overnight, but USPS express shipping is usually around $40 or more for me here. Is it location based (I am in the far corner of the US, far away from most of the population). Are people getting a discount somehow? Are you using a different carrier? Business rates? 

I know businesses can get lower shipping rates, but what about us non-business bug shippers?

This is a late reply but in Indiana the bottom rate is $24.95 and depending on the size/weight it climbs in price. $40 is ridiculous!

It's usually more than 40, like 43 and change. Wish I had business rates!
