Chinese Mantis Hatch!

I checked on the mantises outside, and found five dead, and two dying. I had to euthanize them in the freezer.   

Meanwhile, the “Mantis Party” has been reduced from five to one. I think they dispersed throughout the plant to avoid each other, though, so perhaps it’s a good thing.

Well that's not a very fun mantis scavenger hunt if you don't find them alive!  But sadly the mortality rate is typically high so it's to be expected, although still not fun.
