I have read the pinned posts here, but I was wondering if Chinese ooths need a diapause period (2-3 weeks in fridge) or can they be left out to hatch? and how long about to hatch, ooth was laid today, its my first caged ooth so any info would be much appreciated ! :)

does not need a diapause but the nymphs would not survive the cold weather if released this late in the year but if you plan to have them hatch out next year its best to leave them outside but keep them safe from animals and are they fertile?May take 4-8 weeks to hatch if you want to hatch them anyways!

Nothing I can say that massaman hasn't said already. Just make sure you have a fruit fly culture ready when the nymphs emerge. Don't wait 'til then to order the cultures. Also remember to spray the enclosure you're keeping the ootheca in, but don't spray the ooth directly; also make sure the enclosure is ventilated to some degree.

Thanks for the Info guy's, yeah I mated her twice so there fertile. I figure she will lay at least 4-5 ooths so 1 or 2 I will use to practice my nymph raising skills, if I have any LOL.
