My C. gemmatus today laid her first ooth after only 16 days as adult!

I wasn't going to mate them till the weekend, but should I now give it a go as she has already started laying, I thought it would be at least a month before she would start producing unfertilised ootheca's.

My male shed to adult the same day the female did, so just hopeing he has enough balls to do the job, but he does seem very fearful and will take off with very little disturbance.

So what I'm basically saying is should I give it a go now, and hope he don't get eaten by my very aggressive female, or should I wait?

im no pro but if shes started laying i would mate her now.

You will have probably 10 days until she lays again, maybe more, give her a couple days, they are extremely hungry after laying ooths, so don't do it today or tomorrow.

Well I kinda took MJ's advice before I saw yours, I gave her loads of flies last night then introduced them both to a large net cage, he has now mounted and has connected :D , so it has all worked out well, I'll leave them together today with plenty of food, hopefully when he's done the job he'l fly off and not lose his head!

Since mating them the female has laid 2 ooths, one a day after mating and the second on thursday, think its time to try mating again.
