I was cleaning cages today and thought I felt a cricket or something hit me in the middle of my neck, I felt around a bit but couldn't find anything, so continued on my way... thinking I hope whatever it is isn't in my bosum...ha ha ha, that's ok to say ain't it? Well anyway, the door bell rang and I opened the door to fed ex and the driver gives my the package and says while turning away, you got a cricket on your shoulder. :D I said " I wondered where it went" ! Now from the way he acted, One would think it was not unusual to see a cricket in the dead of winter on someones shoulder  . I thought it was funny.

I was thinking about my reply and thought, If I would of been thinking faster, I would of said, Oh that's Fred! What would you of said?

I think it's amusing it was there, he noticed and told you. The comeback doesn't make a difference.

(Did you make your bug trivia guestimate?)

Hahaha!!! I can just imagine the things going through his head as he left and went on with his round! Situation is funny enough with you saying, "I wondered where it went." :p

I guess you could have said, "He's been waiting to see you all day!"

THat is hilarious!!! He's like just camped out there, not in your bosum but just sitting there on your shoulder as you answer the door as if He were expecting the package.

"Is that for me???"

My nephew (9yrs old) said giggling when I let him read your post!!!! <_<

...comedian....

Oh, yeah, I had to explain "bosum" to him also!!! LOL!!!!

 ya just never know what a mantis hobby will bring to ya next! It's bad enough that sometimes when I sit down to dinner, the babies come running down my arms, but to have Jimmy Cricket waiting for the post beats all I ever seen!

You tell that nephew, thats what we old women call them!!!

Yea, I have to be careful what I say to some of these drivers, I would either scare them off and they would be leaving my packages up the road, or they may just take a bite!

LOL i can only imagine the face he must of have pulled XD

not many people are used to people with bugs on their shoulders opening doors

Shoulda said "Want a taste?" :p
 Was gonna post the same thing! You beat me to it.

Just imagine all the weird things postmen see on their routes. That was probably nothing compared to some of the stuff he's seen. I have some horror stories my aunt has told me with her experiences as a mail carrier.

Had to add this...

When I got my first batch of crickets in the mail, I brought it in and placed the package on my kitchen counter. I came back to it about 5 or 10 minutes later, after getting my cricket tub ready.... and there was an escapee cricket on the counter! I grabbed the box and sped it outside, then got my tub outside and did the transferring there.

The box was completely intact, no evidence of damage, no open seams. But the cricket size was 1/4". I'm guessing that if they could find a way out that easily within a very short time on my kitchen counter... some of them likely might have escaped en route too... at postal centers and in delivery trucks. Makes me wonder... Maybe one of the delivery guys somewhere has a similar story... "I was delivering this box to this house, and when I gave it to the lady she said, "You have a cricket on your shoulder..." hahaha
