Darkling I.D Request for Hisserdude

Hi Hisserdude!

Here is a picture of one of my darkling that you said you may be able to identify from beetleforum! It's not very good because I had to crop it a lot to fit it into the requirements for a photo, but here you go!

Hmmm... this is a hard one. It's 100% an Eleodes species, but I'm having a hard time getting it down to species. Got any idea where it was collected? And would it be at all possible to get a brighter dorsal shot? I'm thinking it could be E.dentipes, or something similar.

Checked the post out and posted my IDs, I do think this girl is a E.dentipes after all.

I also appear to have a pair of E.dentipes, I only put a picture of one of them because they basically look exactly the same except one is a little larger. They have interesting behavior, one of them just appears to sit on top of the others back for hours even though they aren't breeding, don't know why they do that.

That's something that a lot of darkling beetles do, just cling to the back of a cage mate and sit there. Don't know why they do it, why else would they want to cling to another beetle's back unless they were gonna mate? Darkling beetles are weird lol! :lol:
