Does anybody know what those little clear bumps are in the center of my Indian Flower Mantis's head? He's a Creobroter gemmatus, if that helps. Thanks!

Those are your mantis' eyes. They have five, and those clear bumps are the three "normal" eyes. The larger two are compound eyes.

@bugloverjo They are indeed eyes, but the three "bump" eyes are used to detect light, and the two large compound eyes are for detecting movement and depth perception - see link.

I've also read in this scientific research paper the three smaller eyes allow a mantid to see in 3D, and perhaps beyond (I can't find that article link). Speaking of mantids and 3D, take a look at this research article. :)
