Hello forum members!

I've got a question for y'all...Have any of you every had a mantis with eyes that had the same (or similar) marks as the image below? It appears her eyes were bruised and they were a bit more reddish in color when she arrived.

Speaking of that...she was shipped via USPS and they were the cause of this.

She still eats and seems to see okay...I would assume it would be like blocking out part of your eye...You can see, but part of your vision is blocked.

The picture is not the clearest, but your should still be able to make out the blackish blobs that cover parts of each eye.

i have experienced this too, coincidently with the same species. Have you ever seen your mantises tap against the cage and brush their heads on it as if to find a way to get out? That rubbing causes it. The mantis probably rubbed the package a lot since it was dark and didn't know where to get out from.It may affect sight somewhat but it is nothing to worry about. Hope everything goes well!

So long as she's eating and can see enough to get around she'll do fine.
