My adult female bud wing mantid died suddenly today. She reached adult 4 months ago and has successfully mated and laid several ooths. As you can see from the picture I was expecting another ooth from her any day. She was active and healthy yesterday and I was shocked to find her dead today. I switched her prey from crickets (which she has eaten for months) to dubia roaches 3 days ago. She seemed to love the roaches and I don't know if they have anything to do with her death. For an insect she had a lot of personality and loved being handled.

Sorry to hear that your female bud wing has passed away. Especially when she was about to lay another ootheca :( May she enjoy countless flies/crickets in mantis heaven.

Terrible HG. :( Sorry for your sudden loss. My Parasphendale affinis - Ponder - was the perfect pet and luckily she lived well over a year.
