so I found a leaf hopper (Acanalonia bivittata) and took it hope to my Creo P. female (fatty is eating like a pig) and was curios to see her "hunt it down" like she does other bugs i stick in there. she ignored it. even when i prodded it to make it hop, it crawled right past her and she just let it (which like never happens) later I checked on her and saw the wings laying on the bottom of her enclosure. so I wonder if the green color did not register as "food" to her..

warmer weather provides a nice variety of bugs.

I am carefull about where I catch bugs at though since both my workplace and home have monthly bug spraying contracts....dont want to poison my mantids.

Leafhopper's can make a disgusting smelling liquid and rub it on their body to ward of predators. The mantis could have just waited for the smell to go or something.

maybe,

caught a crane fly and fed her that...gone in 60 seconds!!!!

(maybe not that fast but she wasted no time)
