Thankfully no. he's fairly stick-bound. If he flew I would never be able to find him.
Mine never fly too far. I've been keeping the males in with the females and rotating them around. I ended up with more females than males. When I open the lid, they sometimes fly. Often they land on me.

 
It's tough to tell until you have a few to compare. Probably is a male but the females look very similar unless you see their faces to compare. Females will fatten up in a hurry too. They can eat multiple BBs every day.

actually no they don't molt that often. even when I powerfed them. I got the ooths from Henry just after starting out and they didn't hatch much later. Odontos are fast, I got them towards the end of december and they're almost adult, but the ephestiasula are probably1-2 months older and not all are adult yet.
