Fly Cultures

I got maggots in my culture but I see them climbing up the walls and the next day i see brown dried up maggot like things. This is the first time I am creating my own cultures. Are the dried up things dead maggots or are thy just like that before they turn into flies?

EDIT: Never mind I just learned that they are pupating.

Yeah, i remember those times...I was confused as well when i first got mine. So scared lol.

Sounds like things are going well with your cultures. Now all you have to do is wait.

My remaining hydei cultures are getting to be pretty big so I think i'll mix up another medium to start another culture. I like to have both sizes of flies available.
