Found a super Pink!

Well yesterday I found the most pink adult s. limbata I have seen to date. This is the second pink mantid that I have found at home. I sure am glad that I placed 5 ooths in our garden. Even though all of the adults migrated away from the garden, it is obvious to me that mantids abound here in part because of our placing those othecae!

I had a pink male Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii nymph this year, he was the normal colour when i got him but turned pink really quickly

He even stayed pink as an adult

I managed to pair him with my female, they connected but unfortunately she had him for breakfast, she has gone on to lay 6 ooths and the first 2 have since hatched.

Cool. That's what I have planned for next spring...placing all the 'extra' ooths around the neighborhood. Though I think there may be more limbata around here than I suspected earlier. My wife found a yellow one last week while on a walk with a friend.
