I found this on my patio, pics can be seen in "found on patio", anyway I misted it and fed it some D hydei, it ate 7 back to back, at one point it had one in each claw! D hydei was all I had on hand at the time. So I think it could be a female due to 5-6 segments, and a california mantis (stagmomantis californica), what is the care I need to keep it going? It seems to have a little trouble trouble climbing on the plastic of the enclosure, is this normal for this species? My captive bred mantids have never had a problem with climbing on plastic, I have however made a cozy little home with plenty of sticks for climbing on that I will post pics of later.
