front door find!

here is my guardian mantis! he guards the front door by hiding in the rose bush and snagging creatures before they enter the door. i was surprised to find mantis out this time of year.

I've found two green females as well within a week of eachother.

One of them just laid a huge ooth yesterday. I hope she's already mated.

You could keep the one you found and feed her and collect her ooths to raise, and then release the hatchlings into the wild or raise them up.

I have been debating that. Its been out there for about a week now. I keep checking the bush for a fresh ooth but i am really tempted to bring her inside.....its cold at night!

Yup! I found a female a few days ago, and found one laster year almost to the exact same date. They always seem like the later bloomers here in LA (Stagmantis Californica, right).

she will die soon if you do not bring her in, she will be ok inside, I bring all my leftover females inside for the winter and some live to jan
