any of you with a large amount of mantids or whatever that require you to have fruit flies all the time, have you experienced an explosion of mites????

i did recently, and im curious if any of you use insecticide shelf paper. preventing mites... LMK what you've experienced.

MOving this topic to the proper forum..........

I had mites ONCE. That was several years ago. I never had a mite problem since. Since you have the mites you need to get rid of all of your cultures. Don't keep any of the flies either. If there are any cups, lids, plugs, etc that you want to keep you need to sterilize them. A run through a dishwasher will work. Once you do that, get all new flies. Then pick up some mite paper and set your new cultures on it to prevent future infestations.
