Okay - I was given an egg-case from a Ghost Mantis, and I have no idea on how to care for it! I know it was laid about 1 month ago, and I was told to keep it in a Mason Jar with holes in the lid along with a damp paper towel in the bottom to keep humidity...Other than that...It's resting on the top of my bearded dragon's cage, where it's NOT DIRECTLY exposed to their heat light, but often gets enough light to keep the jar moist and humid...

I watch the egg-case for mold and the same with the branch its on...What else should I be doing with it?

Pix to follow in my next post - Gotta wait until the wife wakes up to take the pix LOL!

I just noticed too (kinda had to sneak in to grab it so not to wake up the wife LOL!) the stick the eggs were laid on was retaining a lot of water...though the stick was dead (I believe it's off an elm tree too) So, I CAREFULLY removed the bark and the egg-case, taking note of its position where it was laid (which is how it sits on the stick) and threw the stick away.

I read Peter's thread about caring for the egg-case, and it said super glue was a good method to place the egg-case back in its origional position...IS that ok to do with this egg-case as well? And how do I know if the eggs are even viable?? Guess I need to read a little more, but any help would be appreciated!

Here are the pix -

Nate
