Usually the most common answer is to mist more often. It can take some time to get used to since you can't just up the humidity and cut out ventilation or the animal will fall over dead anyway.

I think the mantid wasn't misted or drinking enough. His environment was misted daily but I was scared to blast him with the sprayer so I sprayed around but it never dawned on me that he could be dry in such a humid environment. Makes sense now. Stupid 20/20.

Don't blame yourself on that. I did that too with my mantis. She hated it when i misted her lol
