Gongylus Gongylodes nymphs hatching out

Finally after two months, one of my gongy ooths hatched out.

And something weird happen to one of my friends Female ghost, Her abdomen exploded, maybe too many crickets, flies, and roaches for her diet?

The recent parasite discussions are a possibility. Also, I had an adult Orchid female who just sat on the rim of a deli cup filled with food until she was so bloated, the edge of the cup wore into her abdomen (she stayed in the same spot for almost 3 days). She had a bruise the same size, for the rest of her adult life. (Certainly didn't kill her, though).

My little Gongy's started eatting fruit flies within about 12 hours of hatching. I've never seen that before - my nymphs usually take a day or two to "dry" or whatever. Anyone else seen this...?

I just barely fed mines today. They are eating nicely on the FFs.

Ooths are fun and easy, just make sure you buy from a reputable dealer. A lot of people keep their ooths and if they don't hatch after a very long time span, they will then sell them anyways!

Violins are an awesome species to work with, and the L1s are sooooo cute!!! If I were you, I would get my feet wet and buy an ooth or two of some species you are most interested in.
