I was pretty upset this morning to check on him and see him weak on the bottom of his cage, but Grandpa Jack was incredibly old for an adult. After he molted he lived to 15 weeks and 3 days. I was hoping to see him into the New Year, but he was too tired I guess. I'll miss him. He was my first mantis and while I couldn't hold the squirrely man, he was a fun pet to have around. He was definitely senile near the end. He reflexively caught a cricket just because I touched the tongs to him. He didn't eat it at first and he also would look around and try to grab things that weren't there. He was a good boy. He loved it when I came with a paint brush full of water and shivered (something we never understood lol).

@kwright

There. See?

We love these little guys so much, hey?

A toast to Grandpa Jack Religiosa.

May you meet again, in the clearing, at the end of the path.

I am sorry he passed. 15 weeks is an insanely long time for a male to live! Good job with him!
