Hey Everyone,

I have a grass mantis here that I got from Yen Saw. I was wondering if this is an adult or a sub-adult. Because I think those might be wing buds, but they might be short wings too. I'm never had a grass mantis before, so I don't know. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Carol

Woohoo, a male subadult.

I so often have all females, but I think these reproduce in the traditional fashion and also through parthenogenesis.

Hi Carol, glad to see the grass mantis doing well with you. I agree with everyone here it is a subadult male. Adult female of this species has no wing, so there is no wingbud either for subadult female. best of luck!
