My adult Parasphendale agrionina has laid a rather large ooth(longer than she is!), yet she has never been with a man(tid), or so I was told. Will this species lay empty ooths? Are they prone to parthogenesis? Is she lying to me about where she goes at night?

She is lying to you! u r too funny! she will lay ooths with eggs without a male, unless she is really sneaking out at night, and one way to tell is to sprinkle a little flour around her door and check to see if her little footprints are in it in the am!

She will lay them regardless. They won't hatch though. Both of these posts gave me a chuckle.

...or shine a blacklight in her cage and look for "spots" is what I've been told.

Thanks and hello, Peter! Well...she has about a 1/4" glob of ooth goo/black stuff still attached to her abdomen. The, uh, business region(inverted u-shape at the very tip of abdomen?) is free and clear but will the glob impede the males' progress? I attempted to remove it, but it has solidified. I was considering moistening the glob with a q-tip to remove it. Do you think that's advisable? This is my first experience with a bio-chastity belt.
