near houston area, with six chinese mantids and 1 carolina ooth. I was new to this a while ago,(I hope I'm much less of a newbie now) still learning and happy to find a mantis forum! Hoping to raise devil spiny mantis and orchid ones in the future. However, in the meantime any inexpensive diy cage ideas and feeder bug advice is greatly appreciated ! especially fruit fly culture food recipes... 
looking forward to being a part of this community (everyones reactions so far to my mantis affinity isn't positive to say the least...so I really am happy that theres a community that doesnt associate mantis rearing with a buffalo bill type ) . Thank ya'll for taking the time to read this and perhaps sharing your lovely insights and maybe stories ( I love those too , hit me with the weirdest/best ones!
