Hello, my name is Scott. I am from the cities originally, but my wife and I now enjoy living in Northern Minnesota in the Lakes area. I once had an experience with some type of large Chinese Mantis over in Michigan, this was about 30 years ago. I found it trimming trees and I set it down for a second to grab a cup and it disappeared. Coolest thing I ever saw, I was so bummed. Later that day my friends would tell me I was crazy, that there's no mantis there in the wild.
I recently remembered that time and was daydreaming about online only to discover they are kept as pets, I think the one I found was maybe from someone's garden. I've had all sorts of exotics over the years with the kids, but this hobby really intrigues me. Looking into a Devils flower, or maybe the Giant Asian.
