Bought 11 nymphs from a breeder as 6th instar nymphs. Unfortunately 3 came DOA (fortunately I got refund for the 3), but the remaining nymphs made it alive and are growing well. Most are subadults now and one of them recently molted to adult :)  Interestingly, it seems that I have 3 males and 5 females. Hopefully I'll be able to breed them or I'll be really disappointed.

I love Heterochaeta's pointy eyes, largeness, stick-like body and coloration! Truly one of my favorite mantid species!

Great to see someone else is trying the species too, and with so many nymphs you should have some luck breeding. It would be great to see them become a more common species, as I know for quite awhile they seemed to only be kept by bobericc.

They really are a unique mantis with their size, eyes, and such. I really should try them at some point too lol. :D

Yes, with 8 nymphs it'd be easy to get them breeding :)

Apparently Michiganmantidguy has been keeping this species for multiple generations, and he recently had a hatch so hopefully they'll circle around in the hobby once again :)

I would like to try them again too. Hopefully Murderess's evil spirit will not be seen again!
Hopefully they'll become available soon :)
