I promised PhilinYuma I would introduce myself XD
My name's Adrienne, I'll be turning 19 in May and I'm a nursing student. I currently live in South Dakota where you don't see many if any mantids.
I got into mantids my senior year in high school. One typical school day, I head out to go home and notice this weird looking green bug on the wall. I had no idea what it was at the time, so I picked it up with an empty container and brought it home. It turned out to be my first pet mantis.
Usually, I don't keep wild animals since Steve Irwin always said not to, but the very next day we had a terrible frost, so I didn't see any harm in saving her from death. I named her Artemis and I kept her for three months before she passed. (I still have no clue if she was really female; I just wanted to use the name Artemis XD)
So my egg sacks recently hatched and I'm the happy mother of close to 100 Chinese mantids.
I currently also have a maltese, a maltipoo, a turtle, a dragon goby, three zebra finches, two sugar gliders, and two rats (one hairless). I would really like an opal corn snake or an axolotl.
This seems like a very friendly forum and I hope to make some new friends. If you have a deviantart account, feel free to hit me up at http://ad-kins.deviantart.com/
