OK.. for the DIY people on the board...

How long does it take to master the glue gun?

I have webs everywhere... even where I was not glueing!

I see so many enclosers so neat... I have glue all over the encloser?

What am I doing wrong?

Help...

Can always pull webs off easily after you make them, and what I do is use the metal tip to smooth the glue evenly over the screens, you can always add more, run the bead of glue if it's sloppy turn the glue gun on a angle and run just the hot tip over the fresh glue it will flatten out, when I say tip I mean use side of the metal tip, hope that works

I've never been able to completely avoid that problem. I find that if I put the tip of the gun against the surface and rub the tip across the surface as I lift it I can often prevent it. Otherwise just remove those excess threads after they dry.

I don't bother with glue, I just stuff fake plants and stuff into a tank lol

although I did have to glue sticks to the top of the tank for my idolo. I used a "cold" hot glue gun and it dried quick enough to just pull the string off when i was done with a stick.

Thanks ya'll

That is what I was doing wrong.. I didn't wait for the glue to dry... so it was smearing like crazy..

Have babies coming today and trying to finish up containers...

Now what to do about burned fingers... LOL

After I've glued everything in place and its dry I use a soldering iron to tidy it all up... You'll need a damp sponge or cloth to clean the soldering iron as you go along as the glue will build up on the tip and start giving u webs again...

I almost sat on my hot glue gun a couple times =.= Working on the ground sucks.

I usually find working with a higher heat setting helps with the webs. The glue tends to be more liquidy and stay in its place instead of dry into strings. I've also seen some of my nymphs eat the dried glue strings............. i wonder how i should break the news that they are spaghetti to them.
