Will it be ok to feed my L3 Deaf leaf mantis common household insects found in the UK? such as small flies or spiders?

Just wondering seeing as i have ran out of crickets, and waiting to get a few more off beckyL.

house flies and spiders are fine just don't feed him to many spiders.

It is fine. Why not too many spiders? You can feed all you want.

i heard that they contain poison and if you keep feeding them to your mantis it builds up and causes early death.

No idea where you heard that from but it isn't true. Don't believe everything you hear.
