How can I get a permit to import and export live insects from a country?

Next year i might go to Costa Rica and i want to know how i could get a permit to bring mantises back to NY.

Pretty sure that isn't going to happen. I suggest contacting first the people responsible for such things in Costa Rica followed by the U.S. authorities on that such as APHIS and USDA. I can pretty much tell you now it won't be allowed.

I think you can apply for a permit for it, they posted something like that on ukmf that states shipping between the us and the uk, fortunately they don't normally check the boxes, and its almost always ooths going both ways.
