Sounds great! Couldn't lady bugs take care of the aphids...? Or lacewings (or whatever they're called).
and when they grow up, take care of them nasty butterflys too. :devil:Chinese mantids can take care of aphids also.
I raised only 2 monarchs last year, but it was still really fun!!I raised 50 monarchs last year and hope to get more this year. You should try butterflies or moths. They are beautiful and fun! I also have some moth cocoons
