how often can you mate male?

Hi all...I apologize if this has been covered before, but I don't get much computer time. I have six s. carolina adults. Three males and three females. One of my males is not able to mate. He has several disabilities that will make him too vulnerable, so he's just living the life of luxury. One of my males is scared to death of the females and runs from them. One of them mated yesterday with one of the females. The thing is I have two other females ready to mate right now. How often can I mate this particular male?

It is best to give him a day or so off with water an food rations

. Then let him at it again. With another day off and so on.

Do you think scaredy cat boy will ever want to mate? He's plenty old enough. He just doesn't want to and runs and hides. Don Juan, on the other hand, took about 5 seconds to jump on the female and stayed there for about 12 hours! He's already been eyeing one of the other females but I'm going to take your advice and let him rest awhile!

I usually wait at least three days between matings for the males to recharge and re energize before having him try to mate again.

Well, studly mated again this morning and is safely back in his container. Only one more conquest and then he can live the life of luxury. He's going to take a few days off before getting back in the dating scene.
