How to take ootheca of mesh

Hello everyone!

Nuggets my female mantis payed an ootheca yesterday. I will let it dry for 2 more days before removing it but how to I take it off?

You should be able to pull it off. Hold it with one hand, and gently start pulling, it should let go. if not rub the back side a little to release it.

For the species I have (pseudomantis ) Apparently Their ooths remain relatively soft and spongy so I will try rubbing the back!

i decided to take it of today instead. since it has has only been 2 days, can i keep it in a different position to when it was layed?

Just make sure the spot that was connected to a surface is put back on a surface and have the opposite side facing down so the babies can come out.

It was layed on the side of my enclosure facing horizontly

It'll hatch mounted on a vertical face or suspended horizontally from a lid etc.

The problem is that I can’t get the ooth to hang on the top or side and it would be much easier just to keep it at the bottom

Don't keep the ooth at the bottom. It needs to be hanging vent side down or at least mounted on the side of the enclosure.

I use a needle and thread to hang them where I want them. just pierce either end and make a loop and hang it, it will be fine.
