Howdy, I live in SW Michigan and work in preclinical research.  Been here a little over a year and found several mantises, I assume european or chinese, in my yard last fall, which sparked my interest. I also raise butterflies, moths, and a variety of amphibians and reptiles.

Welcome, I'm from Michigan too. I'm curious about the moths, what sort to you have? I found a rosy maple moth a couple years ago and it was the most fantastic experience. I'd never seen one before! I also found a beautiful sphinx moth in California last week. Very interesting creatures!

I raise the native saturniidae moths : cecropia, luna, polyphemus, promethea, and  imperialis.
