I am super happy and super excited, i used to raise these guys as a kid. And i could never find them anywhere for years.

Well today was at the mall and i briefly looked at the milk weed and found this beautiful caterpillar. His name is lucky i will be making him a fb page XD. As its taken me 9 years to find one.

Congatulations! Crazy that this is the first time you’ve seen one in so long. I’m glad you were able to see one of these beauties again. Keep us updated on the little critter!

Ooh! Yay! take good care of the little guy! My grandma used to raise them too. So pretty!

Where do you house them? I don't know how to take care of caterpillars. How are they doing at the moment?

All of them are in crisalis's and i put them in a net cage. @Little Mantis Ive raised them for years. I raised caterpillers when i was a lil kid.

I can't wait to see pictures of them as adults! They are so pretty!

I try to find a half a dozen or every fall for my sister to take to her first grade classroom.  The kids love it.  It's getting harder and harder to find them though and now the area where I have been having most of my luck has just been plowed under.  Supposedly they are doing prairie restoration, which would be cool, but I'm probably .going to have to look elsewhere or resort to buying them online if I can find some.
