I got my first exotic species

So I just got a ghost mantis today!! I have a quick question though, the mantis is super small and have he/she in a 20 oz cup I think. Should I have a mesh lid or cloth?

I used a glass container,and cut a screen piece off my old cage. Used a rubber band to keep it in place.

I've used deli cups and similar containers with a cloth lid, with no problems. I usually put a bit of plastic mesh on the top in case they need a better grip for molting, though.

I'd definitely suggest a mesh lid or cloth, especially for ventilation purposes. It's better for gripping, too

If in doubt use both, glue half strip of mesh on cloth cover or a strip of cloth on a mesh cover.  I always gave my chameleons options and it should apply for climbing insects too.  I would also give several vertical climbing options too.

Just make sure the weave on the mesh is small enough to keep small fruit flies in.
