I have a question about mating-

Both of my Hierodula mem. Have been an adult for about 2 weeks + now, especially my male. I feel like his "time" is coming and I want to mate them first. But when I take both of them out, set them on my bed with the male behind her, they just sit there. Male just sits there. Same as the female.

How can I mate them ?

Yeah I'm kinda having the same issue my female laid her first ooth so she has to be ready but my male just doesn't make a move help anyone?

when ive had this problem in the past, i have kept her eating while im trying, which makes her wiggle her butt slightly... also i blow on the male gentley to give him a little nudge

Yeah I tried that and male still does nothing

Has your female been calling? She may not be sexually ready to accept a mate yet.

Also, have you read the Sticky for breeding mantids? That is very helpful.
