hi am i right to say these species like it hot 25 -30c

also kept on the dry side? (low humididty)

and they are rather large when young?

also would a heat mat suffice for temprature requirements?

are there any other rules i need to follow?

thanks

rob

Yes, but 30-32°.

No, 50-90%.

Yes.

No, some good lamps have to be used.

Yes. No locusts, no crickets as food.

Greets,

Christian

thank you for the replys, dont they need flying insects?

also would i be able to get rid of the heat mat alltogether and just go with a heat lamp?

it dosent need to be any special UV light or anything does it?

and is it exspenisve to run - im kinda on a limit on how much electicity i can use.

also do i need a thermostat for the lamp?

and can i turn it off during the night without a heat mat (should i not need it)

thank you!

rob

Hi.

Yes.

This may work if the lamp suffices to achieve the T.

No and Yes.

Yes, the energy costs for this species are not really low.

Usually not, except the cage is to overheat.

Yes; it should not be too warm by night.

Regards,

Christian

have a look in the "perfect idolomantis setup" thread in enclosures there are some really detailed bits of info there from people that I am planning on following once my tank arrives.
