I would have deleted this but not sure how.

Everyone thought I was mad when I wasn't so I deleted it so as not to upset anyone.

I was basically saying don't take me the wrong way when I act like a know it all, I don't think anybody's stupid, I just try to help.

That was the bottom line. Hope nobody thinks I'm being mean, here. I'm actually quite stoic, I don't really have an angry bone in my body.

It's a bulletin board bro. Like email, people can't see your face and gestures. Thus, they may interpret your writing in a much different manner. You ::must:: keep a sense of humor on a BBS at all times. One of the worst tactics you can use is being defensive. Even though you REALLY want to respond in a defensive mode (or worse, an offensive mode). Don't. Take it from an old bulletin board pro from when they were brand new to the internet. Rather than going back to the active thread with a counterpoint, try this. Don't respond. Ties your hands with a zipband. Let the thread continue for a while and watch where the conversation goes.

I don't understand how what I'm saying can be interpreted in any negative way, though - I'm only offering information, not opinions. It seems they think I'm trying to be a 'know it all', and become bothered by this. I made this thread in an attempt to help them understand that I don't mean to come off in that way, and that I am only trying to help. This thread is only about me explaining myself, I do not feel defensive/offensive. It's a good idea not to respond. When I do respond to negative comments, I try to do it with kindness, so as to reverse their feelings, which sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't.

 
My dad always says it's better to pissed off than pissed on. I told my dad that there are some people that would disagree. :lol: Don't get mad, get even.

I don't know what this is all about since the post was edited away, but just breathe. :D

A good rule is say what you mean and mean what you say, unless your clowning around like I often do. You(myself as well) may not always be right but it's not the end of the world bro, as long as it's not a derogatory statement toward someone then I say let it fly.

You can never please everyone so don't waste your time trying to, if you have an opinion or information either post it or don't and let the chips fall where they may, if someone doesn't like it then that's their problem to deal with.

Besides everyone already knows I'm the only "know it all" here!!! :p He-ha-he-ha

Oh it wasn't about anything that could be wrong or right. It was based on my experience. I think I described too much, over-did it, and made the person feel as if I thought they were stupid. I'm not upset, as many of those who comment on this thread are thinking. I was explaining myself so as to help others understand what my intent is - to help. It's true that not everybody will be pleased with me when I speak like a 'know it all'. And lol

 
Meh. Half the stuff I say is taken wrong when it's in text like this. I don't' try to sound like an , it just happens to be that way. I'm quite a nice guy usually.

It really does seem to be about the fact that they cant see us or hear our tone of voice. From now on I'll explain myself and my intent each time I make a comment.

Dont let what the others say fool you, I was never upset, only trying to explain that I dont mean to come off in a negative way, but that I am only trying to help. glad to have helped you and that you didnt take me wrong. and exactly, thats what everybody's saying, that its because nobody can see/hear each other.
