Infertile oothecae.

4 of my Chinese females have layed oothecae so far. I sure that they are all infertile because no mating took place. One of the females was connected for like a minute. :angry: All of the oothecae look nothing like the nice ooths that the mantids hatched out from. Are infertile oothecae always deformed with this species, or am I doing something wrong with the mantid's care?

Most of the time infertile ooths are deformed looking. Your not doing anything wrong.

I've never noticed any difference. I've had deformed ooths from mated females.

Me too, but really dont remember if any hatched! :blink:
