Thanks for the correction, @MantisGirl13! Always great to learn about new bugs. I’ll try to get a species ID in case I ever see another one. Very beautiful insect indeed

Couldn’t get it down to species, but I think it’s an Enallagma sp. 

Hoping for confirmation. For now, though, I’ll just hope to see another one again some day. It reminds me so much of this little blue helicopter I had when I was younger, although I suspect this damselfly can actually fly
