Your best bet for inverts is at reptile shows. At least that's what I've noticed and then it's very limited.

yeah, i've been looking into the NARBC show coming up, but i'm not sure if they'll have much available, i haven't seen the vendors list yet.

There's also Repticon in December.

The insect fair at calpoly sucked, very little to see, done in 15 mins. When they use to have it near the pumpkin patch area, it was way bigger and lots to see. I don't know the location of it this year, but if it's still being held in some remote building where you have to take a shuttle to, it's so not worth the price of entry.
