I was just wondering if you could get two mantids from the same subspecies, but different species to mate (ex. creo pictipennis and creo nebulosos)

and whether or not anything would come of it. Has anyone tried this, and if so what came of it?

Do you mean the same Genus?

I don't think that the offspring would be fertile. The definition of species implies that they cannot produce successful, fertile young. There might be a way to get a hybrid mantis, but it would be sterile.

Yeah genus... I knew something was off...

Is there anyone that actually has successfully done this with a mantis? I would definitely wanna see a hybrid.

Please do a search on this topic. It comes up fairly frequently and I know there are multipage threads on the topic.
