Maybe your female miss-molted. I will search other images.

there r clear differences

popa spurca crassa females obviously have longer wings compared to their bodies and as adults dont appear to have the lobes on the top of the abdomen that my female retained

and my female's abdomen is not as wide or fat as a crassa, i think mine r popa spurca spurca

and she did not mismolt, she just didnt close her wings right

They are different.

we wont know until some one breeds them. if the produce offspring then they are the same species.

My goodness, guys! If you had Googled <mantodea genus popa> you would have discovered Popa gracilis and saved yourselves from posting some rather unnecessary stuff.

There are three recognized subspecies of Popa and, as Alex mentions, all three can interbreed. He is also correct in pointing out that the "senior" subspecies just doubles up on the species name for the trinomial.

F. Lombardo is the guy to scope out if you want a more detailed study of the genus
