Japan mantis I.D. help?

My cousin lives in Japan and he sent me a picture of a mantis hanging out on his bike, can anyone tell what it is?

That looks like a H. B to me .. Hierodula bipapilla

Well it's a "Japo-green-mantis" of course...

Maybe a member of the Rhombo sp?

funny that you commented first, when i saw this picture you popped in my head too

it looks similar, but i think this ones wings are a little bit rounder

It has all the characteristics of a hierodula sp. but the shield is so large...I think i will aggree with Nick on this one...maybe a rhombo sp?

I've never seen a mantis with such a thick frame (pardon my terminology ) It looks really strong!

I see three white dots in this picture, but I can barely see them in the photo so they could be something else like a rain drop. Here GhostYeahX says that Hierodula bipapilla have two dots and Hierodula patellifera have three.

The pronotum looks a little thick compared to this H. patellifera. Maybe the angle it was taken?
