Just found a stagmo male

I too have what I believe to be a S limbata. I think the best method to differentiating between S limbata and S californica is on the forelimbs. S californica has forelimbs with black and orange/tannish spotting on the inside of the limb, S limbata does not. This is just what I found from my browsing the forums (and using the search feature).

Someone with more experience identifying California natives please correct me if I am wrong.

 
The method for me is to look for black stripes on the dorsal part of abdomen, indicating S. californica. None of the native Stagmomantis spp has this trait.
