Hi folks! It's been awhile. My life's been crazy hectic.
As some of you know, my late pet Giant Asian Mantis became a minor celebrity in my state and now a new orchid mantis, Daisy, is carrying on her legacy.
HOWEVER, I'm unsure about Daisy's ***. My last orchid mantis I could tell by L3 that she was female, but Daisy I'm not so sure. The thing is, she looks like she has six segments but here are three things that make me question this:
1. Daisy doesn't seem as aggressive for prey as my last orchid mantis. (probably unimportant)
2. The transition from L3 to L4 was barely noticeable (BUT it's been year since my last orchid nymph, so my memory may be fuzzy)
3. I don't think I see a band yet to tell for sure.
4. It was also pointed out to me that Daisy doesn't seem to be forming the little 'unicorn horn' typical in females, but I'm just not sure (added in edit)
TL;DR: Could I get some input on what you all think Daisy's *** is?
Thank you!
