Made it to Adulthood!

I can finally say I've raised my first mantis to adulthood and I'm chuffed.

I adore the green accent colours on Chinese Mantids and was enthralled watching its wings inflate.

Gave it two days and it annihilated a wax worm within a few minutes of snatching it from me.

Hooowever, I'm still struggling to *** it; one minute I'm positive its female and then the next I'm thinking its a male.
I'll try and get a picture of the ventral abdo segments as soon as I can.

Except for night when they go jet black, yeah they're always that green. It always focuses on me when I pass the enclosure.

 
I remember my first mantis i made to adult was the exact same species good times good times lol congrats.

I was thinking the same to be honest. I don't mind having a male, I mean the shorter lifespan sucks -I'm just bummed out because I paid a premium for a female from the breeder.

Ahh well.
