Right after turning on the lights in a dark room, their whole eyes are black.

Oh, yeah, now I see. I agree - I was holding one the other day that had been in the dark, and my mom said it looked like Psychomantis. It definitely makes them look... Creepier. Good Halloween effect! Do they do this to see better in the dark?
