For those who know me even a little bit, I have had severe anxiety since i was in 6th grade. I also have OCD which is bad, like to the point where it was unhealthy bad with some things. Some being washing my hands, switching light switches up and down. Things like that, back in Feb before getting my Mantis's. I had really REALLY bad OCD, to the point i was destroying my hands. To the point where they bled. I would wash them multiple times. Over and over again. My cat Tigger died in march, march 1st. If it wasn't for having mantis's I would've went into deep depression. I owe them my life, I was able to do better. Take my life back, I still struggle sometimes. Wanting to over wash my hands, but I end up concentrating on my Mantis's instead.

They let me take my life back, I owe these little guys everything.

Awesome to hear that the mantids provide you relief. After your other post with the mantis molting on you, it seems you found a lifelong hobby too. :D

Aww this is so sweet!  It's always nice to read about how pets (even the small ones like mantises) provide emotional support for their owners.  I'm so glad your pets are helping you out!

@TEAM BUGS OCD stands for obsessive compulsive disorder, it's a mental disease where people have the need to do a certain thing over and over and over again. People afflicted cannot control the thoughts that make them do certain things repeatedly. People create rituals that they need to do before getting on with their normal lives, although sometimes it's so bad it starts affecting every aspect of that person's life.

I have depression and anxiety, and mantids help me too! Even my psychiatrist says it is a good idea, cause it keeps my mind off crappy thougts, gives me something to do so I don't just wallow in sorrow all day long. I read they made a study with old people gave them crickets to care about and it helped a lot of them feel better.
