Sorry to jump on this old thread, I currently am experiencing something similar to OP. I got an Asian mantis 3 days ago from and very good store and this mantis had been surrendered to them, previously it was kept in a fish tank with snails!!
I didn’t hold out much hope for her as she looked down and her abdomen was large! However i took the chance and woken up this morning to her at the bottom of her tank legs curled up slight movement in forearms and she is watching me no clouding of the eyes. But she’s paralysed and it quite heart breaking to see her still there but unable to move. I’ve tried water but she won’t/ cannot move her mouth.
Any suggestions I know it’s not looking good but I’d like to try my best with her
